“A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; but a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist.”
― Louis Nizer
My name is Eric Cera and like a lot of weird kids growing up I spent a lot of my free time doodling. My notebooks and binders from school have more sketches in them than math problems. One day I absconded with the family camcorder to make my first stop motion film and years later I'm still playing in the same sandbox.
Ive been an Industry Designer with professional experience in both New York and Los Angeles. Upon leaving school (School of Visual Arts) in 2005 I started as a Conceptual Artist/Draftsmen/Prop Fabricator for Nickelodeon, as well as MTV in New York. Soon after I moved to Los Angeles to continue drafting and conceptual design while maintaining a variety of television Art Department freelance work. Broadcast shows including MTV's Punk'd, Speed Networks Bullrun, Spike Tv’s Deadliest Warrior, and ABC's Wipeout were among them. In 2010 I returned to NYC to continue my career in fashion editorial and events as a Carpenter/Scenic for Readyset Inc until returning to freelance in 2010. Since then I've maintained strong relationships between industry designers, producers and local fabrication houses to provide complete set design service from concept to completion. In 2017 I entered my 12th year of custom design and fabrication and I hope with a little luck and faithful clients Ill enjoy another 12 years in the business. Welcome to EC Designs a fully insured custom design and set fabrication company. I hope you enjoy the site!
